At least though you can be sure that whatever format you end up seeing it in, you’re likely to have a good time.You could put app shortcuts for all of these in your Start menu, but that would get unwieldy fast. I wonder if like me, many will feel as if they’ve had their fill of Marvel, and it will likely require good reviews to get me back for more. I got on board the Marvel train as a fan with Guardians 1, and this feels like a satisfying ending the story. 3 is the best marvel movie I’ve seen for some time. The good news is that for me, Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. Perhaps don’t overfill your drinks though. While I did thoroughly enjoy the movie, it is arguably overstuffed with action and I found it a tad tiring in IMAX – you’d need to be made of stern stuff to sit through it in 4DX 3D – but if you’re up for it I wager it would be fun. ![]() However, aside from the novelty factor it doesn’t generally translate to a better experience, and I would not recommend it.įor thrill-seekers, the 4DX 3D version will take it to a very physical level, with moving, rumbling seats, flashing lights, water, and air all getting involved. This will give you extra picture to the sides of the screen, showing images that you won’t see in any other format. ![]() I’d wager that a dual-laser IMAX setup will be the best possible presentation for Guardians 3.Īs a blockbuster film, Guardians 3 is showing in ScreenX in select locations. Again, this is where 48fps helps as your eye gets twice as much information a second compared to 24fps, which makes the image appear brighter, even if the projector doesn’t have a higher lumens output. I would also not that I found that the image was a touch on the dark side. That said, once I got used to it, and my brain got dialed in, as it were to seeing 3D 24fps it did not overly bother me again, even over the long two and half hour run time of the film. ![]() I’d have to say that for a 3D movie that’s a technical feature that I wish was no standard. In terms of the 3D effect, I did note that I was immediately aware of the 24fps motion blur – something that was palpably absent when viewing the 3D 48fps version of Avatar: The Way of Water. 3, in IMAX 3D format in a theater with a “single laser” projector, and I would rate the image quality as very good. I have already had a chance to take in Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. ![]()
